Eric Bibb: “The song 500 Miles is related to the older traditional folk song 900 Miles and was popularized by numerous artists during the Folk revival of the 1960’s.

My dad, Leon Bibb, recorded a fine version which inspired my rendition. Every time I sing it, I hear his voice. Story-wise, it felt like a natural fit for the Ridin’ album.”

Glen Scott: “500 Miles is a song that Eric's Father Leon Bibb used to sing. I first heard Eric perform this song live on his Patreon page and I was captivated by its soundtrack to life qualities. This sparked my creative production energies into what exists today as the 2nd single from Eric's forthcoming album Ridin'.

This rendition is centered around Eric's 6 string banjo and his wonderfully soulful captivating vocals. Esbjorn Hazeluis deftly lends his spirit and talents to the song through a wonderful fiddle contribution. The rest of the instrumentation (Drums, Bass, E. Guitars) was executed by myself with a very supportive but cinematic, soundscape approach in mind.

I trust and hope that the initial point of inspiration and freedom behind our stimulus transcends through the song for listeners and fans of Eric Bibb and his music.”
